Wow, this is the biggest glacier in Europe! The Vatnajökull glacier extends over 200km in South East Iceland.
If you haven’t put it on your bucket list yet, pin it! it is truely exceptional. I did it on a snowmobile, but you can also do it by foot ! Unfortunately when I went there it was too dangerous to go see the famous blue ice cave as it was already slowly melting before the summer. You can view it if you go during the winter, before mid-march.
The Vatnajokull national park has been added as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2019 !
