Iceland: feel magnificence at Diamond Beach

Have you heard of Diamond beach? I had seen pictures on the internet. I was longing to see it with my own eyes…
It was worth it. More than worth it. I stayed hours on this black sand beach covered with big chunks of ice coming from Breiðamerkurjökull, part of the Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe!

When the sun pierces through the clouds, its rays of sunshine gently touch the ice making them shine as diamonds. The contrast with the volcanic sand is simply magnificent, not to mention the sound of the waves crashing on the icebergs in the north Atlantic ocean.

Go there. Sit. Enjoy.
