Did you know there are wild reindeers in Iceland? well I didn’t know either, until I saw some. What a surprise to see them on the side of the road!!!
They’ve been imported there in the 18th century, they were supposed to be domesticated, but that has been a failure, so nowadays, they run free!
They seem to be seen normally in the Eastern region of the country, and I have seen a herd not very far from the Jökulsárlón glacier. So if you are on the road in Iceland, watch around you!

Yes definitely! It seems they’re normally higher but they do come down to the grassland and I guess I was lucky to see them. that was in the middle of April
