Italy: check out the Arch of August in Rimini


The Arch of August in Rimini (Arco d’Augusto), Italy, is said to be oldest large Roman arch still standing.ย  So it is is definitely worth to check it out if you are in Rimini.

It was dedicated to the founder of the Roman Empire, Caesar Augustus, as mentioned on the description above the archway.ย  It can be dated back to 27 B.C.ย  It is almost over 10 meters high! 10.40m to be exact… It was actually a gate of the former city walls.
