Mexico: look over paradise at Hierve el agua

The water boils at 3000m altitude at Hierve el agua. This is what it means in Spanish: the water boils. And it sure does under the warm sun, and you really want to jump into these turquoise green natural mineral pools and springs. The view on the valley is amazing, from the edge of the lower pool you can see down the cliffs and look over the petrified waterfall (1 out of the only 2 in the world).  The rock formations are stunning and you can walk around in the area (watch for those cliffs!) It can get quite busy with tourists, but it is really a spot not to miss about 70km from Oaxaca. The day I visited, there was a photoshoot of a Quinceañera !
