Netherlands: check out the Calling Lady in Eindhoven

Meet the Calling Lady! This bronze statue with a mouth wide open is located in the Municipal Park in Eindhoven (Stadswandelpark) since 1936.

Though known as the Calling Lady, it is a radio monument that commemorates the first wireless radio connection between the Country of the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies that took place in 1927, together with a radio transmission of a speech of Queen Wilhelmina at the Philips Research Lab that same year.

It is a landmark of the city of Eindhoven, so if you are in the area, check it out ! the park is also very pleasant to spend time in.
