Did you know there are more than a thousand fjords in Norway?
I’ve decided to spend a day in the most popular ones in Norway: Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I guess I still cannot pronounce those correctly! . Yet, it was pretty much tourist-free when I went there during the winter, in January. Depending on the time of the year, it’s probably best to pre-book the ticket. I got mine through Visit Bergen, with an easy pick up of tickets at the train station. I left Bergen by train in the early morning, then took a boat trip through the fjords. Waaah! The cruise ended up in Flam where I took one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys: the Flåm Railway! Did I mention I love trains already?
What a marvelous (cold) day !
